- to estimate the diagnostic accuracy of a milk ELISA for detection of antibodies against Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) in dairy sheep and goats and
- to identify risk factors that affect the spread of MAP in Greek dairy sheep and goat flocks.
Initially, the correlation between the ELISA results in paired sera and milk samples will be assessed. Then, the diagnostic accuracy of the ELISA in sera and milk will be estimated, separately for dairy sheep and goats, by age and lactation stage. Consequently, the milk ELISA will be applied in a cross-sectional study to identify managerial factors associated with the risk of positivity in dairy sheep and goat flocks.
